Many patrons joined the Park Hill School District Education Foundation for its 12th Annual Night with the Stars on March 31st, at the AMC BarryWoods Theatre. Attendees enjoyed fabulous food, fun friends, and a great movie while they supported our schools, our children and our community. The Foundation presented the program, Celebrate Our Stars, and recognized newly announced Classroom Grant and Scholarship recipients.
Proceeds from this event support the Park HIil School District Education Foundation. Funds donated by the greater community provide for a variety of educational opportunities designed to foster innovation in teaching, and support programs that further educational growth of the students in our District.

Smart Start is a focused summer school academic intervention program designed to meet the individual needs of students who just completed kindergarten, first, second or third grade and are not performing at grade level. The goal is to prepare students for the upcoming school year and keep them from losing ground during the summer.
The Park Hill School District is dedicated to helping children succeed in school and life. That is why Park Hill will pilot the Smart Start program this year with approximately 150 students. The hope is to establish and expand the program in the future.
Most of the students attending do not qualify for federal programs offered during the school year and cannot attend Park Hill’s regular summer school, because they lack access to transportation. These students cannot receive summer support without local funding.
Smart Start will provide the students with transportation, breakfast and supplies for three weeks. Students will receive specialized and individual instruction in small classroom settings. The curriculum will primarily focus on literacy.
